Endometriosis is often refered to as the "hidden women's disease". Wich is a chronic inflammatory disease. One in ten with uterus is affected, about 200,000 in Sweden, making endometriosis more common than both rheumatism and diabetes. Despite this, the knowledge is low in Sweden both in the health care system and in the society overall.
To draw attention to the disease, I wanted to challenge the way to enlighten and inform, by combining graphic design with art and communication – in order to get an overall experience that is visually strong.
The result was a campaign in three parts, a poster brochure, a campaign t-shirt and a sculpture to visualize the illness. I also worked with social media and created a petition on the site minkampanj.nu to form opinion and contacted the Swedish ministers.
200,000 people can not be hidden. They are not just suffering from menstrual pain!"
